157/365: Why The Concept Of Chasing Your Dream Is Flawed

The concept of chasing your dreams essentially doesn’t do any good to people. Those you can’t reach their dreams often get frustrated which may lead to depression for not being able to achieve what they ‘dreamt’ of. Those who achieve their ‘dream’ get faced with one of the biggest dilemma which is to figure out what to do now since they have achieved what they dreamt of. As a result, they end up being frustrated and depressed. It is a vicious circle that simply gets us running in a loop. A life lead chasing achievements that one had dreamt of may lead nowhere in particular in the end. Because life is not just about chasing something that you had once decided was your dream. It is about taking different aspects of life as it comes and knowing that once you are done, eternal peace is there for the taking.

2/365: The Mindset Of Staying Disorganized

I often find that people who work in a disorganized manner choose to remain so! The major reason is that they feel (most of them strongly believe) there is no other way of doing creative and amazing work. They would say that if you focus on being too organized, you end up just following processes and not getting things done. On the flip side, organized people would say that when you work in a disorganized manner, you end up being inefficient. At the end, most people would agree that it is about bringing in a balance. However, most of us may not realize where to bring in the balance and how do you go about it. My take on this is that staying disorganized is primarily a mindset as a disorganized person doesn’t find enough personal reasons to become organized. I’m yet to become a super organized person but I have completed the first step of overcoming the mindset of staying disorganized.

1/365: Absorbing Negativity

I’ve never been someone who was too keen on celebrating New Year’s Eve. In fact, I’m quite a celebration shy person in general. However, every new year, I usually take sometime to reflect back on where I’m at as a person and where I would want to be in the coming days. Today, I’ve been thinking about how negativity impacts us in general. It is a common wisdom that negativity ain’t good but then again I often see people around me getting engulfed in negativity. I also feel that negativity will not become non-existent hence it is important to learn how to absorb it. This year I’m planning to explore the best ways to do that. If you have any thoughts on this, feel free to share.
